Publishing company AlphaPolis has recently bought out the shares of WHITE FOX studio, establishing it as a subsidiary.
Mainly responsible for publishing light novels geared towards online readers, AlphaPolis is best known for the IPs: APlaythrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life,New Saga, andTsukimichi: Moonlight Fantasy. Another series that sold approximately 6 million copies isGate, which was recently announced to have a second seasonin the works.

InAlphaPolis’ official statement, they stated that the company itself was branching off into different avenues to expand their IPs into animation, games, and merchandise. Citing the reason behind the acquisition itself as a move to combat the anime industry’s struggles with animator shortages and low-quality projects currently being produced by studios due to workforce issues.

By acquiring WHITE FOX, AlphaPolis seeks to “construct an internal system for visual production” and ensure that only “high-quality anime adaptations of its IP” are produced, thanks to the technical capabilities that WHITE FOX has shown through its previous works.
