Michael B. Jordancould come back to theMarvel Cinematic Universein the future, and while I would be happy if he played Killmonger again, I believe there are more interesting ways for him to return to the franchise through the multiverse. Jordan joined the MCU in 2018 withBlack Panther. His complex villain turn as Erik Killmonger helped the film become the only entry amongall MCU moviesto benominated for the Best Picture Oscar.

In live-action,Jordan returned for a cameo inBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, where the deceased Killmonger appeared to Shuri on the Ancestral Plane. The actor also voiced a Killmonger variant in the animatedWhat If…?series. Thanks to the multiverse, Jordan could return infuture Marvel moviesas a different version of Killmonger. However, after watchingSinners, I hope we get to see the actor stay in the MCU for a long time, and I know just the multiverse roles for that to happen.

10Black Panther

Chadwick Boseman played the MCU’s first Black Panther, T’Challa. After the actor’s tragic passing, Marvel decided not to recast the role, instead opting to make Letitia Wright’s Shuri the new Black Panther. Years after that decision,Marvel is reportedly open to recasting T’Challa, which would be done through the multiverse. That leavesthe door open for Michael B. Jordan to take over as the MCU’s Black Panther.

The actor is already part of the hero’s corner of the MCU in a big way. Jordan also has an established working relationship with director Ryan Coogler, having appeared in all of his movies. However, what makes him perfect for the role is the actor’s desire to play T’Challa. According to Jordan,Black Panther was his childhood dream Marvel role. If the MCU recasts T’Challa, then I think that a talented star with franchise experience and love for the hero is the perfect choice.

9Brother Voodoo

The Black Panther Franchise Already Offers The Perfect Connection

At the end ofBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, it was revealed that Boseman’s T’Challa and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia had a son. The young Toussaint, also named T’Challa, like his father in Wakanda, lives in Haiti with his mother. The country also happens to bethe home of a certain mystical hero from the comics, Brother Voodoo. Jericho Drumm would be an interesting choice for the MCU, allowing Jordan to dabble in different areas.

Black Panther 3

TBD

The actor’s connection to the Black Panther franchise could help make Brother Voodoo an intriguing part ofBlack Panther 3and future movies. The hero could help Nakia and Toussaint from a possible danger. Jordan not only has the acting skills to make such a complex role work — Voodoo has control over the spirit of his evil brother — but alsohas the star power to take him to the rumored Midnight Suns adaptation.

8Cyclops

The Field Leader Of The X-Men

Cyclops will soon make his MCU debut.James Marsden is set to reprise his role of Scott Summers from Fox’s X-Men movies inAvengers: Doomsday. With the animatedX-Men ‘97, Marvel Studios already showed that it understands the hero, making him the leader he was meant to be in the animated series. After Marsden gets the chance to live up to Cyclops’ potential, Michael B. Jordan could play the MCU’s Scott Summers.

Marvel Studios has an X-Men movie in development, which is expected to reboot the team for the MCU.At 38, Jordan could stay for another decade in the MCU, playing one of the X-Men’s leaders. In movies like theCreedfranchise, the actor has shown how he has what it takes to bring a character with such great determination, as is the case with Scott Summers, to life.

7Mister Sinister

Another Villain Role Would Suit The MCU Star

Jordan’s MCU debut showed that if Marvel needs a good villain, then the studio can call the actor without as much as giving it a second thought. Mister Sinister is an interesting role for Jordan for a few reasons. One of them is that the actor could even play the role without needing to come through the multiverse.Mister Sinister has such a unique lookthat Jordan should be mostly unrecognizable under the makeup.

Mad Men’s Jon Hamm almost played Mister Sinister inThe New Mutants.

As for his acting for the role, movies likeSinnersshow how Jordan would be a fitting choice for the X-Men villain. The actor can bring great flair to his characters when allowed to let loose like he was able to in the hit vampire movie.Jordan could bring Mister Sinister’s fun but frightening persona to life accurately, making him a scene-stealing villain.

6Blade

The MCU Might Need To Recast A Hero Who Has Never Even Debuted

Bladehas turned into one of the MCU’s most problematic projects. The movie was announced by Marvel in 2019, with Mahershala Ali approaching the studio with his desire to play the vampire hunter. However, six years have passed, andBladedoes not seem any closer to happening. With Ali now 51 and Marvel not making any progress onBlade, perhaps it is time to recast the role and start from scratch.

Marvel Studios would then have the perfect team to get aBlademovie off the ground.Michael B. Jordan showed that he can effectively play a hero thrown into a world full of vampires inSinners. That movie’s director is Ryan Coogler, who heads the Black Panther franchise. As such, the duo reuniting for the MCU’sBlademovie might just be what it needs to finally move forward.

5Blue Marvel

A Mentor to A New Generation Of Heroes

Jordan has already played two Marvel characters, giving life to Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, in 2015’s Fantastic Four movie reboot and then playing Killmonger in the MCU. The actor has plenty of experience when it comes to the franchise, and at 38, he could be seen as a mentor to a new generation of MCU stars. There are rumors that the franchise will go through a soft reboot afterAvengers: Secret Wars.

The character has sadly been underused in the comics, so the MCU could have a popular star like Jordan make Blue Marvel a mentor the younger generation of heroes look up to.

That could lead to not only young stars as the MCU’s X-Men, but also other actors taking over roles like Captain America and Iron Man.Jordan has the ability to play an intelligent, compassionate, and powerful character like Blue Marvel. The character has sadly been underused in the comics, so the MCU could have a popular star like Jordan make Blue Marvel a mentor the younger generation of heroes look up to.

4Gambit

The Actor Has All The Flair Needed To Make Remy LeBeau Work

Deadpool & Wolverineallowed Channing Tatum to finally play Gambitafter his solo movie as the mutant spent around a decade in development hell. Tatum’s Gambit ended up becoming the movie’s breakout star, to the point where he will reprise the role inAvengers: Doomsday. However, since the actor is 44, it would make more sense for Marvel to tie his Gambit to Fox’s X-Men universe and cast another star for the MCU.

While Michael B. Jordan is only six years younger than Tatum, the actor can easily pass as someone in his early 30s.Sinnersis a good example of how Jordan has the necessary charismaand suave attitude needed to play such a flirt as Gambit. Remy LeBeau is one of Marvel’s most easygoing heroes, and Jordan could make him shine on the big screen.

3Silver Surfer

The MCU Already Has A Very Different Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer will debut inThe Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, the MCU’s first version of the character is not the classic one, withOzark’s Julia Garner playing Shalla-Bal in the film. The iconic Silver Surfer from Marvel Comics is Norrin Radd, and Michael B. Jordan would be a fitting choice for the male Silver Surfer. The actor has played roles with the same level of stoicism in the past.

Adding to that, Silver Surfer is one of the easiest recasts to explain through the multiverse. Garner’s Silver Surfer will come from an alternate universe, asThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsis set on a different Earth. Jordan’s version of the character could then come from another universe or even from the main MCU universe.Norrin Radd’s look would ensure that Jordan could play him after having been Killmongerwithout confusing the audience.

2Luke Cage

The MCU’s Street-Level Corner Recently Received A Major Shakeup

Mike Colter gave life to Luke Cage in Netflix’s The Defenders Saga. While multiple characters from the franchise have since returned with their original actors in the MCU, Luke Cage has yet to come back. However,Daredevil: Born Againseason 1 recently opened the door for that to happen. At the end of the show’s first season, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil decided he needed to assemble an army to take down Wilson Fisk.

That means the rest of Netflix’s Defenders could appear. However, if Colter does not end up coming back as Luke Cage in the MCU, then Jordan would be a fantastic replacement. Even if he does return,Jordan could be part of a multiversal Defenders teamthat crosses over with the MCU’s Defenders in one of the upcoming Avengers movies. Michael B. Jordan’s performances in theCreedfranchise make him perfect for the imposing and unbreakable Luke Cage.

1Kang The Conqueror

The Easiest Role To Recast Through The Multiverse

Kang the Conqueror was originally going to be the main villain of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. However, after Jonathan Majors was fired by Marvel, Robert Downey Jr. was cast as Doctor Doom and took over Kang’s role. That does not mean that the character has to be forgotten forever by Marvel, and by bringing in a beloved actor with MCU connections like Michael B. Jordan, Kang could get a new life.

While Marvel only showed Kang variants that look like Majors inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s big Council of Kangs scene, the MCU could easily explain a recast by claiming thatthe new version of Kang comes from a different universe. Jordan and Majors are close friends, so if anyone is to carry the latter’s legacy in the franchise, Jordan could be the one to choose to do so.Michael B. Jordanhas shown in his career that he has the versatility needed for Kangs variants and the grit to make Kang the Conqueror frightening.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a multimedia superhero franchise that began in 2008 with Paramount’s Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr. The franchise quickly grew in popularity, with Disney eventually buying out Marvel Entertainment in 2009. The MCU consists of dozens of movies and TV shows, most notably Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, and Loki.
