Resident Evilfans should be prepared for August 19, as it’s bound to be an exciting day forResident Evil Requiem. The game isn’t releasing until July 15, 2025, but anticipation for the newest entry in the beloved survival horror franchise is already reaching a fever pitch, and has reportedly alreadysmashed two franchise records. Fans have been eager to learn more about lead protagonist Grace Ashcroft, the gameplay, and more, and we may learn a lot more soon.
According toGeoff Keighleyon X, there will be anexclusive new look atResident Evil Requiemduring Gamescom opening nightnext Tuesday, August 19. The pre-show will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT and will be available to stream on YouTube and Twitch viathegameawardsaccounts.

RE Requiemhas been confirmed to be playable at Gamescom, so thisnew footage should give us a better look at gameplayand major story events. There are two big questions on a lot of fans' minds going into Gamescom. One: WillLeon Kennedy be playable inRequiemafter an abundance of rumors? And two: will the Gamescom demo be made public for download during the show? We may get answers to both those questions soon.
RE Requiemhas been confirmed to havedual camera perspectives, letting fans play through the game entirely in first- or third-person. That might be the most ambitious announced feature ofRequiem, so fans in attendance will likely be testing and comparing both styles. We may also get a pre-order date announcement.
