Rogue is no stranger to an eye-catching costume, but Marvel has just given the hero herlatest exciting new redesign, including a badass new accessory, as she incorporates a pair of knuckledusters into her look, signifying that she is still fighting to keep herself, and others, safe in the disturbing future world ofX-Men’sAge of Revelation.

Instead, as she leads a band of assassins to kill the mad Goddess, Storm, she opts for a solid red body suit, black leather jacket, and a low-slung belt bearing the X logo.The inclusion of brass knuckles is the most surprising part, given that Rogue rarely needs a weapon.
It’s safe to assume that Rogue has gone through more than a wardrobe swap. If she’s reaching for a weapon…things are serious.
In theAge of Revelation, the world looks different. With the X-Virus killing off humans and making the literal land, air, and water inhospitable to those who manage to survive, the X-Men’s world is turned upside down. That’s certainly true for Rogue, who, for currently unknown reasons, finds herself hunting down her former close friend, Storm.
With such a chaotic turn of events, and none of her current Uncanny team slated to work with her as she tries to stop Ororo, it’s safe to assume that Rogue has gone through more than a wardrobe swap. If she’s reaching for a weapon, on top of her already impressive strength and power, things are serious.
Typically,Rogue’s ability to absorband use others' powers grants her more than enough strength to get by on her own. Storm is no ordinary foe, though, and they are not living in their normal world. Along with her team of would-be killers, including Iceman and Warpath, Anna Marie is obviously trying to prepare for the worst.
Rogue’s X-Men Face An Uncertain Future
There’s also a possibility that something has interfered with her powers,leaving them muted enough that having an intimidating spiked weapon literally on-hand is the safer option.Little is known about how either Rogue or Storm ends up in their future predicament, but nothing can be ruled out in what is already an extreme and unexpected scenario.
New eras often come with costume changes, andRogue has certainly had her fair share of surprising looks, and she isn’t the only one switching things up forAge of Revelation. Yet, as always, a superhero’s costume is more than just fabric, and Rogue’s choices for her new one say a lot about the world she’s facing.
Not only is she trying to kill her friend, but she’s also fully departing from how she currently appears in Uncanny X-Men. That gives fans plenty to look forward to, as they’re not only getting a new style, but no doubt a complex story to go with it. Rogue’s new look and weapon speak volumes about theX-Men’salarming future.
