A surprise announcement came from Square Enix on Saturday morning. The company announced the return of a major JRPG release from the 1990s. Square Enix is going to be remastering and rereleasingSaGa Frontier, one of Square’s classic games for the original PlayStation. It sounds like JRPG fans won’t have to wait much longer, either, as Square Enix says thatSaGa Frontier Remasteredwill be releasing mid-2021.

For those unfamiliar,SaGa Frontieris a science-fantasy JRPGin which the player can choose one of seven different protagonists. Each of these protagonists has their own adventure and storyline to experience. The individual stories are incredibly diverse, ranging from an ex-con hunting down the murderer of her fiance to a persecuted half-Mystic trying to gain freedom from a controlling Lord who has dominated her life. Some stories are magical, others wholly sci-fi, while others yet are quite grounded.
