All of Us Are Deadseason 2 is finally picking up steam, with five new actors reportedly joining the cast of Netflix’s fan-favorite K-drama. WhileAll of Us Are Deadwas renewed for season 2in June 2022, we have yet to see a trailer or even a poster for the show’s sequel. WithAll of Us Are Dead2most likely coming out in 2026, four years will have passed since the zombie K-drama debuted on Netflix.
The lack of updates on season 2 has been very frustrating for fans ofAll of Us Are Dead. Despite the show’s massive success, we still don’t knowwhenAll of Us Are Deadseason 2 will come out. The show was expected to film season 2 in 2024, but production was reportedly moved to 2025 to ensure better quality. After years with no significant updates on the second season,All of Us Are Deadis finally gearing up for season 2.

Squid Game And Weak Hero Class 2 Stars Have Reportedly Joined All Of Us Are Dead
According to South Korean news agencyNews 1(viaAnimeNewsNetwork),Kim Si-eun, Lee Min-jae, Seo Ji-hoon, Yoon Ga-yi, and Roh Jae-won have joined the cast ofAll of Us Are Deadseason 2.While not much is known about their characters, it appears that they are playing important roles on the show. Kim Si-eun recently gained worldwide fame for playing Young-mi in the second season of Netflix’sSquid Game, which also saw the debut of Roh Jae-won’s character, Nam-gyu. Roh Jae-won currently reprises his role as Nam-gyu inSquid Gameseason 3.
Lee Min-jae is also coming off a major Netflix success, having played Go Hyun-tak inWeak Hero Class 2. K-drama fans will recognize Yoon Ga-yi as Ji-won from 2022’sDa-eum So-hee, while Seo Ji-hoon is most known for playing Seok Jae-beom inRevenge of Others. They will join Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon, all of whom are expected to reprise their roles in season 2.

Not only isAll of Us Are Deadreportedly welcoming several new characters for season 2, but the show is also enlisting major up-and-coming actors for its second season. In other words, we should have a lot of important new characters in season 2. This is not surprising, given howAll of Us Are Deadseason 1 ended. With the school gone and our characters now living in a post-apocalyptic Hyosan,All of Us Are Dead2 will likely be different from the first season in a lot of ways.
All of Us Are Deadcan’t do the premise of season 1 again, but it can expand the scope of the story with new characters and locations. Most of the first season took place inside Hyosan High, and we barely got to see what was happening in the rest of the city. With On-jo, Su-hyeok, Nam-ra, and the others potentially exploring Hyosan after the bombings,All of Us Are Deadhas the perfect opportunity to introduce new characters.

The Original Protagonists Should Still Be The Focus Of The Show
Whilehaving new characters inAll of Us Are Deadis exciting, it also creates a few challenges for season 2. Firstly,All of Us Are Deadwill have to make us care about these new friends and foes, but it cannot sideline the original protagonists. Finding that balance is not easy, especially for aK-drama based on a webtoonthat has already covered the source material in its entirety.
Hopefully,All of Us Are Deadseason 2 will be able to expand the world while continuing to develop the characters we love from season 1.
Sweet Homeran into a similar problem. The monster K-drama, which was also based on a webtoon and had run out of source material after season 1, introduced several new characters during season 2. Song Kang’s Cha Hyun-su was absent from a significant portion ofSweet Home 2, leaving many disappointed. Hopefully,All of Us Are Deadseason 2 will be able to expand the world while continuing to develop the characters we love from season 1.
