The last time fans got a big update on theSilent Hill 2remake’s progress was at the latest PlayStation State of Play event, which featured the survival-horror franchise prominently. We are in the final stages of development.

Unfortunately, the State of Play seemed to leave fans more worried about theSilent Hillfranchise than excited about its future.Silent Hill: The Short Messagereceived mostly negative reviews, and many fans expressed their concerns about theSilent Hill 2remake after its State of Play trailer. Instead of focusing on the haunting atmosphere and scares that the series is known for, theSilent Hill 2remake State of Play trailer was combat-heavy. The backlash was enough that Bloober Team has actuallypinned the blame on Konami for the trailer, so it will be interesting to see if there are any further developments on that end.

While some fans may have been disappointed bySilent Hill 2’s combat-focused trailer, the good news is that the game is nearing the end of its development. Hopefully,Silent Hillfans don’t have to wait too much longer to play the long-awaited remake for themselves.
