Without a doubt, droves of horror fans are hoping thatSilent Hillhas a resurgence in some way, shape, or form, especially after the way in which Konami approached andcancelled Hideo Kojima’s vision for the franchise. While it doesn’t look like official sequels are coming any time soon, though, Microsoft decided to at least allow owners of its current generation console to play some of the series' games on Xbox One.

As seen in the tweet below from Microsoft’s Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, bothSilent Hill: HD CollectionandSilent Hill Homecomingare now available to play on Xbox One thanks to the tech firm’s backward compatibility program for the system. So, technicially, sinceSilent Hill: HD Collectionis a compilation of remastered ports ofSilent Hill 2and3, then fans have three titles to look forward to coming to the system’s backward compatible library.

For those unaware as to how the Xbox One’s backward compatibility feature works, anyone who has an original Xbox 360 disc copy of theSilent Hill: HD CollectionorSilent Hill Homecomingjust needs to just need to pop it in their Xbox One. Of course, both games are also available to download digitally by way of the Microsoft Store, with the former being priced at $10.50 and the latter costing $20.

WithSilent Hill: HD CollectionandSilent Hill Homecomingboth now playable on Xbox One thanks to backward compatibility, it’s safe to say that some will decide to give the titles a go either yet again or for the first time, which will surely evoke desires for a brand new installment to eventually come out. After all, many already consider the series to be one ofthe top horror games that should come back from the dead.
