Not Much Has Been Revealed Of The Silent Hill Remake

A Confirmation It’s In Development, But That’s About It

A PR release fromBloober Teamback in February shared thatthe developer had signed a new deal with Konami to develop another game, but at the time, it wasn’t confirmed to be anotherSilent Hillgame. Now, that deal seems to have been for this remake ofSilent Hill 1. Little was shown or announced about the game. It appeared at the very end of Konami’s show with the iconicSH1theme song, fog, and a message that just read:“Silent Hill in development,“with the Bloober Team and Konami company logos.

Bloober Team had previously teased that itspartnership with Konami was likely not over, and it seems far from that now. The game is likely in early development, as Bloober Team’s next game,Cronos: The New Dawn, is releasing sometime this fall, and Bloober Team has anothergame in development simply known as"Project R"currently. With so many projects at once,it may be a while before we see any more information regarding theSilent Hill 1remake, especially withSilent Hill freleasing in September and marketing likely aimed at promoting the newest entry in the series.

Bloober Is More Than Ready For This Remake

Bloober Team’s Underdog Story Has Made It The Right Company To Handle Silent Hill

It’s not much of a stretch to saythe success ofSilent Hill 2remake was a massive turning point for Bloober Teamin the industry. The developer had made horror games before, likeLayers of FearandThe Medium, but none of them saw the level of critical or commercial success thatSilent Hill 2remake did. Because ofSilent Hill 2’s legendary status among most fans, players were rightfully nervous about a remake of the beloved title, and Bloober Team’s success with the title overturned many expectations.

Bloober Team seemingly brought the majority of theSilent Hillcommunity around from being against the studio to rooting for it, leading a lot of fans to ask for another remake of aSilent Hillgame to be made by the same team. Those requests have now been answered, as Bloober Team returns to whereSilent Hillbegan to tell the story of Harry Mason looking for his missing daughter.
