With the release ofHalo Infinitemere months away, many in the gaming community are looking forward to experiencing the game in its completed state. Numerous players have already tried out theHalo Infinitemultiplayer beta and many like what they see. However, some users have expressed concerns regarding the use of motion blur withinHalo Infinite.

Motion blur has been an ongoing cosmetic feature present within various games. For some players, its presence is inconsequential, but for others, the use of motion blur can be severely detrimental to the overall experience. To the point where back in early 2021, Square Enix had to add amotion blur toggle to theOutridersdemodue to demand. Now, a number of players are feeling wary in terms of the inclusion of motion blur inHalo Infinite.

A Reddit user named NesquikBF4 posted in response to another post made by a343 Industriesemployee that said that there were no current plans to remove motion blur fromHalo 3on theMaster Chief Collection. The user specifically stated that they had a hard time playing games with motion blur due to the incurrence of nausea. Many other users expressed concern that these kinds of changes may not apply toHalo Infinite.

Within the last several years especially, accessibility featureshave become a mainstay of video game development. Allowing players of all kinds to be able to experience the game as effectively as everyone else is important and fortunately, much more attention has been placed on making sure AAA games are accessible for everyone who wants to play them.

That being said, video game development is by no means an easy process. If the lack of a motion blur toggle on theMaster Chief Collectionis any indicator, then it’s likely very difficult to make a fix like that happen. Although, many other games, likeUncharted 4, added the ability to toggle motion blur after the initial release, so it’s possible that a feature like that could be included later on.

Ultimately,Halo Infinitehas yet to be officially released, and without having the finished product commercially available, there’s no way to know for sure if a toggle ability for motion blur will be included in the final version of the game. Though, it is worth mentioning that just like the 343 employee’s response to the use of motion blur in theMaster Chief Collection, if there’s enough demand for it, there will likely be a patch for it released later on, should it be a default option.

Halo Infinitelaunches on August 05, 2025, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
