Starfieldis an impressive, vast sci-fi RPG that allows players to explore countless planets and moons as they uncover the mystery around ancient relics that have been found across the Settled Systems. However, many of the places that players can explore will not be safe. Whether it is pirates or indigenous creatures looking for a meal, there are all manner of threats that players will inevitably run into.
That is where combat inStarfieldcomes into play. To help deal with these problems, there are all sorts of weapons that players can find and enhance withskills that boost weapon damage. Some types of weapons will be easier to find, while others will take longer. This is the case for the shotgun.

How to Get a Shotgun
ThroughoutStarfield, players will have numerous opportunities to loot random containers and enemies. The items they obtain while looting are randomized to some extent. This also includes things like the rarity of the items that drop. In short, one way to obtain a shotgun is by looting it off of an enemy. Since this is entirely random, some players will find one right away while others may not see a single shotgun for hours. The shotgun depicted in the image above was found in the Nova Galactic Staryard.
Looting is not the only way that players can find a shotgun. Vendors will occasionally sell shotguns as well, so if players are lucky (and have enough Credits), they can obtain a shotgun through this method. Keep in mind that rarer quality shotguns will cost more credits than common quality shotguns. For example, Rapidshot at rare quality was being sold at a shopin New Atlantisfor 23,730 Credits. Since there are more expensive things in the game, players may want to save their money.

Examples of Shotguns
There are two kinds of Shotguns amongall the weapons inStarfield. The first kind is ballistic, and the second kind is particle-beam. There are more ballistic shotguns than there are particle-beam shotguns, and they vary in stats, rarity, and how many mods they can have.
The first shotgun mentioned in this guide is a common quality version of Coachman. It had zero mods, 38.4% accuracy, a magazine size of two, and it did 63 damage. Comparatively, the Rapidshot was rare quality and had six mods, 56.9% accuracy, a magazine size of six rounds, and did significantly more damage than Coachman (131 damage to be exact).
Starfieldis available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
