TheFire Emblemseries has become one of the fastest-rising franchises in Nintendo’s repertoire. As the strategy game has sky-rocketed, characters have been added toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatequite regularly. And now–as a rather funny joke–one modder has created a way for the entire cast ofSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateto be removed other thanFire Emblemfighters.

WhileFire Emblemis quite beloved, there have been complaints in the past about there being too many fighters inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatefrom the series. In fact,Sakurai says that he doesn’t decide ifFire Emblemcharacters make it toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate;a distinction he had to clarify. But even with those complaints, a modder has made it so that the game can be played withFire Emblemfighters alone–no one else.

A modder by the name of Akrenix has released a mod called “No, MoreFire Emblem!” This makes it so that the only fighters in the game are Marth, Lucina, Roy, Chrom, Ike, Robin, Corrin, and Byleth. The mod also only allows players to fight onFire Emblemstages. Interestingly enough, this same modder recently released amod that removes allFire Emblemcontent fromSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Many wonder if it is a chicken or an egg sort of thing when it comes to the popularity ofFire Emblemthat has coincided with the cast being added toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. On one hand, Marth and Roy were a part ofSuper Smash Bros. Meleeand few knew where they even were, so the game helped catapult them to fame (like Captain Falcon or Ness). However, characters like Lucina or Robin have joined the crew right in the thick of the success of theFire Emblemseries.
