Summary
There’s nothing better than jumping into an exciting new game with a friend, and it’s fair to say that Capcom has its fair share of high-quality co-op games which are an absolute blast to play either online, or in some cases, through split-screen. Capcom was one of the earliest developers to integrate cooperative functionality into their games with theFinal Fightseries on the arcades, and ever since then, they’ve provided plenty of games that are fun solo, butso much better as an experience when playing with someone else.
It also helps that Capcom’s games span across a wide range of genres, giving players plenty of choice and variation when it comes to picking out a title for two. From hunting down ferocious monsters to surviving in a zombie-infested city, these are the best co-op experiences provided by Capcom which players can jump into and enjoy today.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chroniclesis a spin-off on-rails shooter game that drops into numerous major scenarios throughout the series' history where they must try and survive against hordes ofzombies, B.O.Ws, and plenty of other monstrosities. Along the way, there are documents and files that expand on the lore, along with ammunition and herbs which are vital for making it through each area in one piece. The large hordes of enemies mean that, even when a second player is in on the action, the gameplay never feels too easy and is always as intense as ever.
Because both players share a single screen with different colored reticles, it also makes it easy to follow what’s going on, while also saving on-screen space. The game’s first-person perspective and richly detailed environments do a great job at immersing players into these locations, and it makes for a creepy thrillride which is at its best when playing through on co-op.

Co-op had been a core part of theFinal Fightgames ever since the first entry in the series, but because of how polished and refined the gameplay is for the third game, it makes the wholebeat ‘em upexperience so much more fluid and fun than it was before. Each of the four playable characters comes with its own set of moves, encouraging players to try each of them out to see which suits their preferred playstyle the most.
The addition of dash and dashing jump attacks also helps to makeFinal Fight 3’sthrilling combat sections feel a lot faster and more engaging than previous titles, especially in the last few stages, which can be downright brutal, even on co-op. With six extensive stages to explore and a myriad of boss enemies to take down, there’s more than enough content inFinal Fight 3to keep players hooked for hours on end.

What makesMonster Hunter Riseso appealing to its dedicated fans is how it allows for quick and straightforward hunting sessions. Once players boot up the game, they’ll be able to form a party of up to four buddies before then setting out to hunt down a beast of their choosing. Though the world is very big and packed full of secret items and resources, the Palamute companions allow players to navigate around each area incredibly easily, ensuring there’s barely any downtime between fights so they can be in the thick of the action as much as possible.
Riseis known for being a bit more linear and basic in terms of its level design when compared to some other games in the series, but this doesn’t need to be a bad thing, especially for those who would rather skip all the exploration. Those who simply want to duke it out with someferocious monstersalongside a few friends should definitely give this popularMonster Huntergame a try as it’s a ton of fun to play in small but exciting bursts.

On the surface,Lost Planet 2can seem like any other third-person shooter game, but what sets it apart from its peers is just how over the top and absurd it can be in terms of its gameplay. One moment, players will be tasked with bringing down a colossal monster in a swamp by jumping inside its mouth and destroying its arteries, while the next, they’ll be gunning down enemies while standing atop a speeding train in the monster-ridden desert. Needless to say, the game is full of surprises, which is why it’s such a blast to jump into it blind with a friend, as there’s no telling what the next level will have in store.
There have also been a few changes from the previous game that makeLost Planet 2much easier to get to grips with and more accessible as a whole, such as how the character’s thermal energy won’t automatically drain when running around, for example. Anyone who loves massive action set-pieces and thrilling boss encounters should definitely grab a friend and dive deep into the wonderful world ofLost Planet 2.

Though the originalDead Risingwas a smash hit upon its release in 2006, the one thing many players wished would have been included was the option to explore the zombie-infested mall with a friend. Thankfully, Capcom acknowledged this and decided to implement co-op into the sequel,Dead Rising 2, which follows Chuck Greene who must find a way to survive the zombie outbreak that has landed in Fortune City, all while providing medicine for his infected daughter, Katy.
Dead Rising 2encourages players to get as creative as possible when finding ways to navigate past the giant hordes of zombies who stand in their way. As a result, it can be so much fun experimenting with different tools and weapons alongside a friend to try and see how much carnage can be caused while also completing objectives along the way. This game contains the perfect blend of hilariously absurd gameplay, and a rather compelling story, which makes it hard to put down, and after the main campaign is done, there’s even more fun to be had with the excellent Case West side story.

Resident Evil 5has received flak over the years for its messy story and lackluster new characters, but one area where it received a tremendous amount of praise was its co-op campaign. Once players choose between either Sheva or Chris as their playable character, they’ll embark on a journey through the depths of Kijuju where they’ll face all kinds of horrors. Because the game doesn’t feature shared loot, it means players will need to be looking out for one another to ensure nobody is lagging behind in terms of ammo and health.
There are also plenty of areas in the game that encourage players to communicate and work together in order to make it through to the next area. For example, the first Uroboros bossrequires one player to lure them into an incineration room while the other traps them inside, and this is just one of many areas that utilize co-op in fun and interesting ways. Once players complete the main campaign, they’ll also have the Mercenaries mode, which has an infinite amount of replay value thanks to its large cast of characters and competitive leaderboard system.

If there’s one word that could describeMonster Hunter Worldin a nutshell, it would have to be; immersive. This game is able to pull players into its world like no other, and when teaming up with a friend, it can really feel like one big grand adventure that is full of fun surprises and unique locales to discover. Players can band together with other hunters in co-op to take part in private and public quests, so whether it be a small fetch quest, or a daring mission to take down the mighty Rathalos, all types of missions can be completed as part of a group.
Alongside the rock-solid combat system which encourages players to team up and use their abilities in tangent to capture a beast, another reasonMonster Hunter Worldis so fun as a co-op experience is the level variety. Though the game is split up into different open areas rather than being one massive open world, this gave Capcom the opportunity to make each environment as different and unique as possible, and this also applies to theIceborne DLC, which introduces an entirely new frosty new locale for players to explore along their epic journey.
