A good replacement show to watch afterSupernaturalis the NBC horror police proceduralGrimm, and the series could even be getting a reboot. If that happens, let’s hope they do it right. If you watchedSupernaturaland liked it, you’ll certainly likeGrimm, and if you likeGrimm, a reboot probably doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

Grimmfollows detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who learns he’s descended from a line of"Grimms", hunters destined to fight monstersand other supernatural forces. The series ran for 6 seasons before ending and has remained a prime example of great supernatural TV storytelling.

Since it ended in 2017, there have always been suggestions and hints of aGrimmreboot. There are always reboot rumors for any popular series. However, aGrimmreboot is looking more possible, though in the form of a movie. Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch, who plays Juliette Silverton, said,

I know there’s a script being written, and I know that David [Giuntoli] met with them. I don’t think they would do a reboot or a spinoff or whatever it’s going to be without David’s involvement.

IfGrimmdoes go the reboot route, they need to take care to verify of one thing.

A Grimm Reboot Would Be Great - But Only If The Original Cast Returns For It

If there is aGrimmreboot, it had better have the original cast return; otherwise, there’s not much of a point. A lot ofreboots and remakes completely miss the markfor plenty of reasons, but when it comes to trying to reboot beloved TV shows, particularly one likeGrimm, having the old cast is key.

It sounds like Bitsie Tulloch is in the project, and her comment also suggests that David Giuntoli will return, who is probably the most important actor to return for a reboot.Grimm’s cast was a fantastic ensemble, and it simply wouldn’t be the same if at least the major players weren’t involved.

What A Reboot Of Grimm Could Look Like, Almost 10 Years Later

The final episode ofGrimm, appropriately titled “The End”, is a fairly satisfying end to the series with most of the major storylines tied up. However, the story jumps 20 years into the future at the end of the series, with the major characters safe and sound, and the Burkhardts still hunting Wesen.

We see a grown-up Kelly Burkhardt (Kevin Joy) and Diana Schade-Renard (Hannah R. Loyd), who are now also involved in the Wesen hunting business. It’s a nice ending to the series that suggests fairy tales never truly end. A movie would likely have to pick up around that 20-year mark.

It’s possible the reboot movie could be set sometime between the ending ofGrimmand the 20-year time jump, but that would also reduce some of the tension. AGrimmreboot should take place sometime after this epilogue, now with the focus on Kell and Diana but with the main cast still playing an important part.
