Summary

In the world of online gaming, there’s often a set of unwritten rules that the community ends up following. These rules are usually forged over time, and though they’re never really stated in any official capacity, those who have been playing the game for a long time just come to learn and understand that those rules should be followed. Of course, the larger a game’s online community is, the moreunwritten rulesthere are going to be, andDead by Daylightis definitely one of those games.

Originally released back in 2016,Dead by Daylight’s online communityhas only continued to grow over the last seven years, and when a game’s community expands so much, there’s usually a rise in the number of unwritten rules that start to emerge.Dead by Daylighthas whole sets of unwritten rules not just for its two Survivor and Killer teams, but even for its individual Killers, and the more overpowered a Killer can be, the more unwritten rules there are for it. And being one of the most lethal Killers in the entire game, it’s only natural that the Nurse has her fair share of unwritten rules.

Try Not to Use Any Overpowered Perks With Nurse

Even a newcomer toDead by Daylightwill likely understand just how important the game’s Perks can be, and that’s the same forboth Killers and Survivors. With four Perks to choose from, getting the right build can be something that players spend hours researching and figuring out. Unfortunately, though, when it comes to the Nurse, it’s very easy to create a build that’s deemed just a bit too overpowered.

For those unaware, the Nurse’s abilityallows her to “blink” through walls, objects, windows, pallets, and any other form of map obstruction in her way. Naturally, this means that a good Nurse player can essentially circumvent chases altogether, and easily get the drop on even the most aware Survivors. But unfortunately, the Nurse’s ability also naturally lends itself to a certain set of Perks, a combination of which makes her practically unstoppable. When playing as the Nurse, players should be careful not to equip too many Aura-reading, slowdown, or instant-downing Perks at once, as this can lead to a very quick, very irritating match for everyone involved.

Be Careful of Using Toxic Add-Ons As Nurse

Following on from the previous rule, Nurse players should also be careful not to use too many of the Nurse’s overly powerful add-ons, especially when they’ve already got the aforementioned Perks equipped. Any add-ons that increase the Nurse’s blink range are generally considered to be taboo among theDead by Daylightcommunity, as they allow the Nurse to basically camp every generator on the map. Combined with a Perk that greatly hinders generator progress and these add-ons can be a nightmare for Survivors, but in the most annoying way possible.

Don’t Use the Nurse’s Power to Tunnel

An unwritten rule for all ofDead by Daylight’s Killers is to not tunnel just one Survivor. In the case of the Nurse, this is especially true. With her ability allowing her to teleport across the map, the Nurse can immediately be on top of a Survivor the second they’re unhooked, and with a good Nurse being able to cut chases short, this can lead to another instant down for the injured Survivor.Tunneling is still a fairly divisive strategyfor theDead by Daylightcommunity, but with characters like the Nurse, it’s a tactic that’s frowned upon greatly.

Dead by Daylightis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
