Warning: Contains spoilers for Sakamoto Days episode #12.Few Netflix anime in recent years have been more divisive thanSakamoto Days. Objectively speaking, the series has been a major hit and one of Netflix’s top-performing anime in years, but fans and critics have been torn about its art and animation and how it often fails to sell the story’s crazy and kinetic action, especially when compared to the manga.

Sakamoto Dayshas been incredibly divisivefrom day one, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t any excitement for part 2. Anyone who read the manga knew that part 2 would be where the story would really take off, so the anime would be fun to watch just for that, but even beyond the narrative aspect,Sakamoto Dayspart 2 is already proving to be far above part 1 after only a single episode. It’s unknown if it will be able to stick to that, but whatever the case, it’s nothing but great to see.

Sakamoto Days Is Finally Fixing The Anime’s Biggest Problem

Sakamoto Days Finally Looks As Good As It’s Supposed To Be

It’s one thing forSakamoto Days’ story to improve, but the biggest hallmark of part 2 so far is in its animation. While there’s only one episode to go off of,Sakamoto Dayspart 2is already showcasing far better animation and overall direction than part 1, with the fight scenes all having a far better flow to them, as well as the overall product looking far more consistent from start to finish.

That sort of improvement can best be seen in the theme song. Part 1’s theme song was highly criticized for its boring and lackluster visuals that hardly fit the tone of the story, but the new opening, “Method” by Kroi, is a vast improvement for its creative animation and for having more movement, in general. It perfectly showcases how much better the animation is in part 2, and that’s something everyone can appreciate.

Can Sakamoto Days Part 2 Stay Great Until The End?

How High Should People Get Their Hopes Up For Sakamoto Days?

It’s great to seeSakamoto Daysgo through such a major improvement, but that begs the question of whether it will stick. The first few episodes of part 1 looked better than what the trailers suggested, but after that, episodes with genuinely great animation from start to finish were hard to come by, so unfortunately, the same could be true of part 2.

It’s certainly possible that part 2 will suffer the same decline as part 1, but with how much of a stronger start part 2 has compared to part 1, it hopefully won’t be as bad as it was with part 1. Whatever the case, with these sorts of visual improvements and the strong writing taken into account,Sakamoto Dayshas never been more exciting, and hopefully, part 2 can maintain that momentum until the very end.
