While anime fans may debate the merits of individual series until the end of time, none other than Guinness World Records stepped in to declare one anime series as king. The hit anime seriesJujutsu Kaisenjust claimed top spot as the world’s most in-demand anime TV show, according to new data released by Guinness World Records.
While fans across the world may have been aware of the series' popularity, it taking top spot is a major achievement considering its competition from anime likeDemon Slayer,Spy x Family, andSolo Leveling.

According to a post onGuinness' website, Parrot Analytics just declared thatJujutsu Kaisenwas the world’s most in-demand anime from August 10, 2025, to June 06, 2025. The demand forJujutsu Kaisenwas 64 times greater than what could be expected from the average TV show, which is a major achievement in and of itself.
Sorry Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer, But Jujutsu Kaisen is Officially The Most In Demand Anime
The Hype Behind MAPPA’s Most Popular Anime is Reaching a Fever Pitch
Though no one is likely surprised thatJujutsu Kaisenis so highly in demand, what is more interesting is the series it beat. Hit anime likeSolo Levelingcontinually broke Crunchyroll recordswhile the hype forDemon Slayer’sfinale made its penultimate arc,The Hashira Training Arc, quite memorable.
Still, when looking atJujutsu Kaisen’scompetition, a clear story starts to emerge about how it won top spot.

WhileSolo Levelingis massively popular in the United States and many other territories, its star is far less bright in Japan. Meanwhile, thoughDemon Slayeris popular in Japan, the yearly release of new seasons or movies means that fans always have a rough idea of how long they’ll be waiting for new material from their favorite series.
In comparison,Jujutsu Kaisen’srelease schedule is far more erratic.Jujutsu Kaisenseason 3 still has no release date, and the last piece of media released for the anime was theHidden Inventory / Premature Deathcompilation film released in May 2025. Given this, it is understandable why fans are hungry for more of the series.
Will Jujutsu Kaisen Keep Its Top Spot For 2025?
The Anime Faces Tough Competition Once Again
While the lack of media combined with a host of other factors was enough to propelJujutsu Kaisento a high spot throughout much of 2024, it’s unclear whether the series will keep the crown in 2025.
Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 ended in December of 2023, meaning that anticipation was high throughout much of 2024. Now that the series has mostly laid dormant for almost 2 years, it’s possible the hype will die down, at least until more concrete information aboutJujutsu Kaisenseason 3 is released.
All episodes ofJujutsu Kaisenare currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
Still, just because it might lose the top spot doesn’t meanJujutsu Kaisenisn’t intensely popular. Any anime that wins a Guinness World Record is one for the history books, and that’s certainly the case forJujutsu Kaisen.
