With the inclusion of Lagiacrus inMonster Hunter Wilds' latest Title Update, it seems like Capcom might try to bring back fan-favorite monsters. In the future,Wildscould implement some of the series' most memorable creatures, bringing them into the Forbidden Lands for players to hunt once again. However, with so many games in the series, there is a nearly endless roster of potential monsters that could be added.

Themonsters that should be added toWildsneed to be ones that are either incredibly recognizable, popular, or sensiblegiven the game’s setting. Given thenegative reviews forMonster Hunter Wildsdue to poor PC performance, any new monsters have to be well represented. With Lagiacrus and Seregios in Title Update 2 being amazing versions of the two monsters, it would be exciting to see some classic monsters return.

Monster Hunter Espinas in Wilds Windward Plains area

10Deviljho

Nomadic Wyvern That Can Take Over Any Region

A Brute Wyvern fromMonster Hunter 3,Deviljhois a great choice forWildsdue to his appearance in modern titles already.Deviljho was a major monster inMonster Hunter World, roaming around different regions for players to encounter as they explored. This nomadic Wyvern is known for aggressively taking over areas, prompting hunters to take it down to correct environmental imbalances, a purpose that takes center stage inWilds' story.

WhileWildsalready has several Dragon elemental monsters, Deviljho’s striking use of its innate traits makes it stand out compared to other Wyverns.Deviljho gets its name from its ability to breathe dark, draconic fire from its maw, inflicting the unique Dragonblight debuffon unprepared hunters. The intensity and violence of Deviljho would make for a difficult fight, which is exactly whatWildsfans have been asking for.

Monster Hunter Ahtal-Ka monster in Wilds Scarlet Forest area

9Espinas

Poisonous Paralyzing Flying Creature Built On Speed

Although Seregios added another Flying Wyvern toMH Wilds,Espinasis another aerial monster that could be quite different in the ecology of the Forbidden Lands.Espinas has venomous talons and a toxic horn that both inflict Poison on each attack, using its blinding speed to attack hunters. With toxic spines all over its body, Espinas is a walking pincushion of danger that hunters can’t approach haphazardly.

With any new monsters added in future Title Updates, I would imagine that they would havemuch lower drop ratesfor different parts compared to the base game. This was a trend seen in Title Update 2’s Lagiacrus and Seregios, whose rarest parts only had a 1-2% drop chance.

Monster Hunter Gammoth monster in Wilds Iceshard Cliffs area

Espinas also shoots dangerous fireballs loaded with neurotoxins, capable of poisoning and paralyzing huntersin one fell swoop. When combined with a thick hide, hunters have to break through Espinas' outer armor to start dealing real damage to it over time. Most of the time, Espinas actually ignores hunters until they break its hide, which could create a fun and challenging experience inWildsas players enrage Espinas into fighting back.

8Ahtal-Ka

Insect That Reduces A Hunter’s Defense

Ahtal-Kais completely distinct from other monsters in the series, mainly because of how it has little to no physical strength on its own. This puts it aside from Lala Barina or Nerscylla inWilds, as this praying mantis monsterhides within a massive nest called an Ahtal-Neset, where it collects weapons and debris from the arsenal of monster hunters. Using golden silk, the Ahtal-Ka webs up any aggressors, then throws metal scraps at them from afar.

The visual design of Ahtal-Ka’s battle is completely original from many other monster fights in the series. The insect uses Guild-sanctioned Dragonater Lances to attack hunters, using the player’s strongest tools against them to turn the tide of a battle. The cunning intelligence of Ahtal-Ka is rarely seen in other monsters, who tend to follow predictable physical patterns instead.

Monster Hunter Akura Vashimu monster in Wilds Iceshard Cliffs area

This monster, first introduced inMonster Hunter Generations Ultimate, has a fight that is unlike many other monster battles in the series. As a huge fan ofGenerations Ultimate, I would love to see more fights with unique mechanics, similar to theunderwater stage of Lagiacrus' fightinWilds' Title Update 2. Seeing howWildscould create the Ahtal-Neset and how Ahtal-Ka controls it like an insectoid sphinx puppet master would be a sight to behold.

7Gammoth

Ice Armored Mammal With An Attitude

Resembling a wolly mammoth,Gammothis a classic monster fromMonster Hunter Generations, acting as a Fanged Beast with immense power over ice. Gammoth can summon ice to encase itself in armor, while using cold vortexes to forcibly move hunters closer toward it. Trampling their enemies,Gammoths are massive, with huge tusks and armored plating that they wield with pure strength.

Although it could be argued that Gammoth has similar features or powers to Jin Dahaad and Doshaguma inWilds, its existence as a large mammal makes it far more unique.

Monster Hunter Monoblos in Windward Plains area of Wilds

Thepresence of Gammoth could add to the diversity ofWilds' Iceshard Cliffs area, which features a limited selection of monsters compared to the Scarlet Forest or Windward Plains. To see a potential turf war between a Gammoth and Gore Magala could be breathtaking, especially if Gammoth is made to be as huge as it has been in previous titles.

6Glavenus

Razor Sharp Tail Sharpened Into A Fiery Blade

Seen previously in theIcebourneexpansion forMonster Hunter World,Glavenusis afan-favorite monster whose huge tail can be sharpened into a fiery bladewhen it fights. This devastating appendage gives Glavenus the nickname"The Scorching Blade,“which could work well as anaddition toMonster Hunter Wilds. As an already well-recognized monster, Glavenus could be an easy fit into any ofWilds’vast regions.

As a Brute Wyvern, Glavenus is a relentless enemy with brutal attacks, especially when its swordtail is alight with red-hot fire.Using both Bleeding and Fire attacks, Glavenus' strikes can cause explosions to generate a dynamic, cinematic battlewith hunters. These abilities tend to translate into Glavenus' gear skills, which could end up helping hunters craft set builds that utilize the firepower of this monster.

Monster Hunter Gogmazios monster in Wilds Oilwell Basin area

5Akura Vashimu

Crystal Tail Morphs For Multi-Phase Battles

Akura Vashimuis another monster whose tail defines a fight, asthis scorpion-like creature has a rear appendage made entirely out of a crystal geode. First seen inMonster Hunter Frontier’s third season, Akura Vashimu stays in one spot, with its tail sticking out of the groud. Lying in ambush, this monster attacks anything that gets near its tail, using a paralyzing strike to try and trap foes before they can escape.

While it may not be brought back toWilds, one of Akura Vashimu’s special features was how hunters broke its tail. Unlike other monsters, where you just focus attacks on the tail until it is removed, you have to break the crystals on Akura Vashimu’s pincers and head and make it bleed blue before its tail can be broken.

Monster Hunter Dalamadur monster in Ruins of Wyveria Wilds region

This monster shares similarities to other arachnid creatures inWilds, but its blood patterns and crystal growths are what gives it a different feel from others in the series.Akura Vashimu changes its attack patterns based on the color of its blood, which changes frequently as hunters reduce its health. This"boss phase"esque mechanic would stand out from otherWildsmonsters, creating a multi-stage battle that players can learn over multiple hunts.

4Malzeno

Vampiric Elder Dragon Who Broke The Sun

One of the coolest monsters who could return inWildsisMalzeno, the flagship creature ofMonster Hunter Rise’sSunbreakexpansion. This Elder Dragon would be the first of its kind in the Forbidden Lands, which has notoriously left out those monster types in the game so far. Malzeno might be the perfect fit for the first Elder Dragon, giving players a fight they’ve been waiting for against a truly malicious beast.

Malzeno is a thin dragon with large red and black wings that almost take the shape of a vampire’s cloak. This is reflected in how Malzeno will drain the vitality of its prey, using a special debuff called Bloodblight to drain the health of different creatures. When threatened, Malzeno can transform into a"Bloodening"state, becoming extremely agile and using bursts of energy to almost teleport around various regions.

monster-hunter-wilds-tag-page-cover-art.jpg

Capable of breathing Dragon elemental energy, Malzeno’s combos are as fast as they are brutal. With the ability to pin hunters and aflict Bloodblight, Malzeno can cause huge explosions, send debris into the air, and focus stolen energy into massive attacks. Just seeing this monster inWildswould lead to battles almost as difficult as Gore Magala, especially if Malzeno has an8-Star Tempered versionin the game.

3Monoblos

Terrifying Triceratops With Intense Defense

While many fans might wish to see the return of Diablos inMonster Hunter Wilds, I would suggest a different classic from the first game in the series -Monoblos. This isone of the oldest monsters in the franchise, resembling a Triceratops as a One-Horned Wyvern. While the small body of Monoblos is more comparable to Seregios or Rathalos, its head reflects a more defensive monster who fights differently from others.

With a club-like tail and a lethal roar, Monoblos can burrow through the earth, leaping out at hunters for aggressive physical attacks. What sets Monoblos apart though, is its hard shell exterior, which gives itself armor that hunters have to break through. This is similar to Gravios inWilds, so having Monoblos could give more validity to armor-piercing or breaking gear within the game.

2Gogmazios

Dragon Made Out Of Superheated Tar

Similar to how Gammoth could add more life in the Iceshard Cliffs,Gogmazioswould be a perfect monster to add to the biodiversity of the Oilwell Basin area ofMonster Hunter Wilds. Gogmazios is an Elder Dragon fromMonster Hunter 4 Ultimate, also known as the"Giant Halberd Dragon.“A truly massive beast, this creature is covered head to toe in tar, almost acting like a walking oil slick ready to attack anything in its way.

One of the best reasons to add Gogmazios toWildswould be to see a potential turf war between it andNu Udra inMH Wilds, the octopus like"Black Flame"also covered in oil that supercharges its attacks with hot flames.

Monster Hunter Wilds Press Image 2

The huge bulk of Gogmazios would already make it an intimidating enemy, but its ability to supercharge the oil that covers it could create a new level of danger.Powerful lasers of supercharged oil combined with Gogmazios' Tarred debuff condition may trap hunters in a hard-to-avoid loop of harmthat might lead to many failed quests. However, the gear hunters could get from defeating this powerful Elder Dragon would make the effort worth it.

1Dalamadur

Elder Serpent Of Apocalyptic Destruction

The monster I want to see the most in a future Title Update isDalamadur, the Elder Dragon serpent and final boss ofMonster Hunter 4. This absolutely enormous beast is a walking calamity, summoning meteors from the sky and collapsing mountainous rock formations. Simply by burrowing underground, Dalamadur can change landscapes, causing rockslides that can devastate settlements below high peaks.

Any Dalamadur can use its barbed tongue to cause Paralysis in its prey or aggressors, before using its barbed tail to strike at those it’s incapacitated. With the ability to breathe fire too,Dalamadur could be exactly what fans need inWildsas a huge boss fight similar to Zoh Shia or Jin Dahaad.

Dalamadur has been known to travel outside its native region, with multiple skeletons of the creature seen in the Forbidden Lands already. This could tease the monster in a futureWildsTitle Update, but Capcom has not revealed which monsters will be seen in their planned roadmap.

Including any type of Elder Dragon will be sure to satisfy fans, but a creature like Dalamadur is the perfect culmination of everything players have been asking for. Undoubtedly a difficult foe to defeat, the"Serpent King Dragon"Dalamadur is the final boss players ofMonster Hunter Wildscan join together to defeat and farm for weapons and armor that could stand out from anything else in the game.
