For the past few years,Frierenhas had a habit of going on sudden hiatuses for unknown reasons; sometimes, it will simply take one week off, but other times, it will be on break for multiple weeks at a time.
Hiatuses have unfortunately become the norm forFrieren, and its latest one has been absolutely devastating as it’s not only lasted six months, but came about when the series had entered its biggest arc to date. Fortunately, that’s now behind the series, asFrieren: Beyond Journey’s Endhas officially ended its lengthy hiatus and returned with chapter #141, and for anyone who’s read it, it’s clear thatFrieren: Beyond Journey’s Endhasn’t lost a step in the slightest.

Frieren Is Already Teasing A Major Battle Following The End Of Its Hiatus
What Happens In Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Chapter #141
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s Endis finally done with its hiatus, and it isn’t wasting any time getting back to its story. Following chapter #140, chapter #141 has Frieren’s team, the Magic Special Forces, and the Shadow Warriors attending a ball as Serie’s assassination draws close. All three groups know they can’t do anything big in a public setting, so it sets up a unique scenario where everyone is waiting for the right chance to strike.
All of that, of course, is perfectly thrown out the window when Ubel showed up at the end of the chapter, as her chaotic nature is exactly what would be needed to throw everything into disarray in the best of ways. Overall,Frieren: Beyond Journey’s Endhad as great a return from hiatus as a person could ask for, and hopefully, the chapters to follow will be even better.

Will Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Continue To Take Sudden Breaks?
Will Frieren Ever Have A Consistent Schedule?
As great as it is forFrieren’s hiatus to be over, that doesn’t mean they still won’t be a problem. Even after being on hiatus for half a year,Frierenis once again going on break, and while it’s a far shorter one at only a week, it still makes it abundantly clear that breaks and hiatuses will remain a regular thing for the time being.
That being said, with how great a storyFrierenis both visually and narratively, it’s the kind of work the creators shouldn’t feel pressured to get out at a speed that doesn’t work for them, and if anything, the fact that they spend so much time on it only heightens its overall quality.
BetweenFrierenseason 2and the manga’s return, there’s never been a better time to be a fan ofFrieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and hopefully, the manga’s return will perfectly play into that.
