Well, like I said, going into Season 3, we’re definitely going to learn much more about Sweet Tooth’s past and his history and his origins, and we’re gonna take a very violent trip down memory lane to get there.
What This Means For Twisted Metal
In the 2001 PlayStation 2 gameTwisted Metal: Black, Sweet Tooth’s origin story is shown in a series of cutscenes. In that game, Sweet Tooth is depicted as being a convicted mass killer who had a curse put on him and survived the electric chair before joining the brutal vehicular combat competition.
The firstTwisted Metalvideo game was released on July 24, 2025, in North America for PlayStation and Microsoft Windows.

Also, inTwisted Metal: Black, a character named Preacher is the reason Sweet Tooth’s head is a flaming skull. It is unclear if Sweet Tooth’s backstory in the TV series adaptation ofTwisted Metalwill incorporate the story depicted inTwisted Metal: Black, or if it will go in an entirely new direction, but Preacher did appear in the show’s first season, played by Jason Mantzoukas.
While a third season ofTwisted Metalhas not been officially greenlit yet, the creators seem to be planning for it. The creators of the show already have plans for season 4, and it will likely happen afterTwisted Metalset streaming records for Peacock.
Our Take On Joe Seanoa’s Statements
It seems like it would be a perfect idea to explore Sweet Tooth’s backstory for the series. Sweet Tooth is one of the best, most iconic characters in theTwisted Metalfranchise, and his backstory in the game is terrifying and almost bound to make great television.
However, it is possible that Sweet Tooth’s backstory could be butchered, and that would upset die-hard fans. Hopefully, the showrunners don’t stray too far from the game’s original story for Sweet Tooth. Ultimately, it will be great fun to see where this beloved character is taken among all the excitingtournament episodes ofTwisted Metal.
