Twisted Metalseason 2 showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith teases that the upcoming episodes will have twice as many car stunt sequences. The story ofTwisted Metalseason 2will be pulled heavily from the video game series it’s adapting, with John Doe becoming involved in Calypso’s tournament. Season 2 will also run for 12 episodes, two more than season 1.

ScreenRant’s Brennan Klein visited the set ofTwisted Metalseason 2, where Smith teased howthe upcoming episodes will have more car stunt sequences than season 1.During a tour of the auto shop, the showrunner explained how, while season 1 had 3.5 major car sequences, season 2 has 7 or 8, around double the previous seasons' numbers.

The Upcoming Episodes Promise Much More Action

Twisted Metalseason 1 endedwithJohn being forced to race in Calypso’s tournament by Raven,with his mission having been a ploy to see if he was trustworthy. During his travels, though, he came into conflict with a variety of enemies, from a tense relationship with psychotic clown Sweet Tooth, to making enemies with former police officer Agent Stone.

Thecast ofTwisted Metalappears to be mostly staying the same in season 2, with some additions, such as Axel and Mr. Grimm from the games. With these new characters, coupled with an extended episode count,it already lays the groundwork for the number of action scenes Smith has confirmed. This will likely include many game references as well.

With the number of car stunt sequences double that of season 1, it sounds like there’s going to be many more action-packed events that unfold throughout season 2. While it’s unclear when they’re going to happen,it seems safe to assume Calypso’s tournament will feature a good number of these sequencesas characters race against one another.

Season 2 Is Gearing Up To Be Even Bigger

With season 2 having even more big sequences than season 1, it seems like the show will be reflecting the carnage of the games' tournament with some highly memorable events.This already includes characters from the games in familiar vehicles, many of which seem like they’ll get a chance to shine in the series' newest installment.

SinceTwisted Metalseason 2 is going to have much more action, the show has an opportunity to have sequences that mirror those found in the source material. While there’s no confirmation as to just how similar to the games it’s going to be, the elements coupled with the increased action means it might feel just like one of them.
