Twitch streams are home to all sorts of wild events, especially when those streams leave the broadcaster’s home and move to the streets. Whenever one of theseIRL streamstakes place, it seems all the more likely that something weird or disturbing, or in some cases, violent, will be caught on camera. Twitch streamer sushipotato was part of one of these incidents during a recent broadcast.
Sushipotato, who is half-Japanese and half-Irish, was recently forcibly removed from outside of what appears to be a club, being shoved, dragged by her backpack, and having her umbrella taken from her. The streamer was clearly upset by the incident, appearing obviously flustered after the confrontation took place. Luckily, however, it doesn’t appear that anyone was seriously injured during the incident.

The situation began with sushipotato being denied entry into a “no foreigners” club. However, sushipotato is a Japanese citizen, showing her passport to the bouncer and criticizing his conclusion as racist. Sushipotato leaves the club, explaining that the bouncer had effectively painted her as a “gaijin,” which means foreigner, due to her heritage. Sushipotato goes on to explain that the rules are there simply due to the clubs not liking foreigners, viewing them as rude and out of touch with the culture.
The Twitch streamer leaves the club to get food from a street vendor but returns to rest a short while later, which is what prompts the confrontation to occur. Sushipotato leaves after being dragged by her backpack, commenting on the situation to her followers before resuming her stream. Her viewers ask her to report the incident to the police, but sushipotato declines to, stating that while the video might help in the US, “it’s different in Japan” and that it wouldn’t go anywhere.
Sushipotato continued streaming for hours after the incident occurred, but it was definitely a shocking part of the evening for the streamer and her followers. It’s not uncommon forIRL Twitch Streamsto get a bit out of hand, as their very nature makes them more susceptible to events like this, though this does seem to be a particularly uncomfortable incident for the streamer.
