Takedowns are a great way to get in some serious damage inEA SportsUFC 4, and indeed there are a variety of different ones that players can perform during their matches. That said, the way to do takedowns inUFC 4is not the same as it was in the previous entry in the series, and that may leave some players struggling to execute them. Fortunately, fans should find it fairly easy to get their ground game going with just a bit of instruction, which can be found here.
However, before getting into how to takedown inUFC 4it is worth mentioning that players that were happy withEA Sports UFC 3’s grapple system can revert to it through the settings menu if they so wish. That is done by setting grapple controls to legacy, and this setup may be preferable to those fans that have prior experience with the franchise. For those players that would simply like to learn how takedowns work underUFC 4’s revamped system, though, here are full details:

How to Defend Against Takedowns in UFC 4
After learning how to takedown in thisnew MMA fighting gamefrom EA Sports, some players will want to move on to takedown defense, which is quite simple at its core. More specifically, fans just need to hold LT + RT on Xbox One and L2 + R2 on PS4 to deny a takedown, and working on this in practice mode is a great way to lock down the correct timing.
That said, things get slightly more complicated if aUFC 4playeris late on hitting these inputs, as they will then be required to press the left joystick in the direction that is counter to the takedown. This is demonstrated in the video featured above, and it is again something that fans will need to spend some time practicing before they have it mastered.
