ABaldur’s Gate 3fan recently shared a spectacular cosplay of one of the game’s most beloved (or perhaps hated) characters - the Emperor. TheBG3fanbase is well-known for its endless imagination and artistic talent, and this is truly one of the best examples.
Reddit userRekkiChuis behind this fantastic ensemble, and their post has quickly gotten a lot of attention on theBaldur’s Gate 3subreddit - for good reason. Their amazing craftsmanship and sense of humor will easily make this cosplay one of the best things you’ll see today.

One Of The Best BG3 Cosplays We’ve Seen
An Accurate Depiction Of One Of BG3’s Most Complicated Character Designs
The level of detail in RekkiChu’s cosplay is seriously impressive.Their tentacled mask looks like it was taken straight out of the game, and they replicated the Emperor’s eyes in a hauntingly accurate fashion.
On top of a standard outfit,RekkiChu gave the Emperor a summer makeover, complete with tentacle-print shorts, a flowery lei, and sunglasses. As uservaluablecorpseperfectly put it, this “Chillithid” cosplay has us more than ready for a Faerûn beach episode. This version of the Emperor certainly feels a lot more approachable than the one we meet in the game.

Not to mention, their use of a worm on a string to represent themind flayer tadpolesis beautifully creative and hilarious.Baldur’s Gate 3would definitely have a different tone if we were dealing with those googly-eyed critters instead of the usual toothy parasites.
RekkiChu later shared in the comments that they hand out these worm props to otherBG3cosplayers,and userSkeleton_Weebeven posted a picture of their own “parasite” that they were given. Moments like this really show the supportive and fun spirit of theBaldur’s Gate 3community.

An Underrated Character To Cosplay
The Emperor Doesn’t Get As Much Love As The Humanoid Companions
Cosplaying anyone fromBG3is no easy task. The game’s cast is full of characters that have detailed designs with varying fantasy elements, sopulling off an accurate look takes real skill.
Choosing to cosplay the Emperor is an even bigger challenge. With his illithid form, he’s undoubtedly one of the least human-looking characters in the game, making him one of the hardest to bring to life in a believable way.
With that being said, RekkiChu has shown just how fun it can be to dress up as the Emperor. By handing out their own “parasites” and making the mind flayer vacation-ready, they prove that you don’t have to take things too seriously to enjoy cosplay, especially in a welcoming community like theBaldur’s Gate 3fanbase.
