Universal Monsters Imprint Grows with New Tale of the Classic Character
The Universal Monsters franchise began at the beginning of the 20th century when Universal Pictures adapted classic horror literature into feature films. Between adapting classic monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein, as well as introducing new monsters such as the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Universal’s monster movies dominated the ‘40s and ‘50s. While the creature features eventually waned, Universal kept its iconic monsters alive in other media, like television, short films, and comics. In 2023,Skybound Entertainment began a partnership with Universal Products & Experiences to create a new line of original miniseries based off of the classic monster films.
Antone’s praise for Tynion doesn’t come lightly as the creator has found major success with his original horror works, including the Slaughterverse series, as well as Nice House on the Lake. Not to mention, Tynion has already delivered once for the Universal Monsters' line, spearheading the first miniseries,Universal Monsters: Draculaback in 2023. Taking his knack for creating powerful, haunting atmospheres with DANI’s gripping art, the Invisible Man is undoubtedly in safe hands. The real question, however,is what can Tynion and DANI bring to the Invisible Man’s story that will make him terrifying to a modern horror audience?

It’s Clear They’re the Talent Needed forUniversal Monsters: The Invisible Man
The Invisible Man is a haunting story with a protagonist who is both disturbing and incredibly tragic. Tynion is no stranger to writing characters that are deeply flawed, nor is he inexperienced when it comes to telling tales of the darkness in humanity. While the Invisible Man might not rank as high among horror fans as Dracula, Tynion and DANI have the talent needed to showcase what makes him so compelling. If anyone can see what makes thisUniversal Monstersuch a great horror icon, it’s them.
