Warning! This article contains SPOILERS forAliens vs AvengersMarvel’sAliens vs AvengersrevealsVenomis the universe’s greatest weapon against the Xenomorphs' invasion, to the surprise of every survivor. Every group of human survivors has been decimated by the Xenomorphs, and legendary heroes like the Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, and most of the X-Men have fallen while attempting to create an unbreachable colony. Only a handful of Marvel heroes take their last stand against a growing Xenomorph army, but their chances appear to be slim.
Carol Danvers, Miles Morales, Wolverine, Black Panther, and the other remaining heroes have little chance to escape Mars without taking the Xenomorphs with them. On top of that, Mister Sinister has genetically modified himself not only to survive, but also to lead the Xenomorphs. AfterSinister Xenomorph’s alien hordeinfiltrates the Avengers' ship and the Sinister Xenomorph shows off its mutant abilities, victory is almost guaranteed for the aliens. However,Venom turns the tide at the very last minute.

It’s too late for humanity to return to its glory days, and the Xenomorphs will always be able to reproduce. Still,Aliens vs Avengersends on an optimistic note as the Avengers drift through space, swearing to do justice to their name.
Venom Defeats The Xenomorphs By Becoming Their Leader
Venom teased the Avengers' victory back in issue #1 when the facehugger left behind after Valeria Richards' death attacked Miles Morales but was possessed by Venom, rendering Miles the first-ever human to survive the ordeal. The symbiote facehugger lay dormant for most ofAliens vs Avengers' story, until a dying Iron Man ordered it to bond to a fully-formed Xenomorph. InAliens vs Avengers #4, the Sinister Xenomorph is able to kill Venom’s Xeno, but the symbiote simply abandons its host and bonds to its killer.Possessing the Sinister Xenomorph, Venom is able to command all its underlings and end the conflict almost immediately.
As Tony Stark says,“parasite co-opts parasite. Symbiote seemingly trumps Xenomorph.“None of the tools the Xenomorphs have at their disposal can harm Venom, yet their physiology is compatible with the symbiote’s bonding abilities. What’s more, Venom is able to tap into the Xenomorph’s full range of abilities, including communication. Mister Sinister’s experiments created an even more advanced leader for the Xenomorphs, but they also resulted in humanity’s best weapon against the aliens. WhileAliens vs Avengers #4doesn’t show exactly what happens next, it’s safe to say that Venom can command whole armies of Xenomorphs and fight all other enemies with his host’s mutant powers.

Venom’s Xenomorph Form Has Major Unspoken Implications In Marvel’s Aliens vs Avengers Universe
Aliens vs AvengersDoesn’t Explore Several Parts Of Its Titular War
Aliens vs Avengersnever mentions what exactly happened to Asgard and how Marvel characters with access to other realms and dimensions play into the titular conflict. Most importantly, Venom is the only symbiote inAliens vs Avengers, which raises questions about other symbiotes' whereabouts and their possible influence on the Xenomorphs' conquest. In theory, Carnage, Riot, and other symbiotes across the universe should have resisted the invasion much sooner, but they’re never acknowledged. The King in Black himself, Knull, should be a huge threat to the Xenomorphs, though his absence in the story could be read as a bad omen.
The Avengers' surprise at Venom’s ability to neutralize and possess Xenomorphs also raises doubts about the survivors' strategy. In theory, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner should have considered this possibility, and Miles Morales should have a strong link to his symbiote. Yet, Venom acted on his own out of the sudden, and he never explained why he waited so long to do something. However, the fact thatthe Avengers and the X-Men’s efforts aren’t united, and the fact that heroes like Valeria Richards committed huge blunders, suggest that the survivors' lack of preparation isn’t an oversight by Marvel, but a key part of the story’s beginnings.
