As Marvel gears up for theVision’s new Disney+ seriesVision Quest, the hero is debuting a bold new power that expands his abilities in official lore. Already a powerful and versatile character, Vision’s most iconic ability just got an upgrade - one that could foreshadow a romantic reunion with theScarlet Witch.
In today’sThe Vision & The Scarlet Witch #3 - from Steve Orlando, Jacopo Camagni, Lorenzo Tammetta, Ruth Redmond and Travis Lanham - the former couple continue to explore the supernatural Graverealm. After Scarlet Witch is attacked by a swarm of eldritch fairies,Vision phases her freefrom their grasp and flies her to safety.

While Vision has always been able to alterhis owndensity - turning totally intangible or as hard as diamond -he’s never been able to alter the density of others before. However, faced with an immense threat to Scarlet Witch’s life, he manifests this new power, including the fine control to leave the fairies' venom behind when he phases Wanda. It’s a new evolution for Vision that makes him even more capable of saving innocent lives - one Marvel is introducingjust in time forVision Quest.
If Vision can turn others intangible, he should logically be able to increase their density too, giving them enhanced strength and durability.

Is This a Fresh Start for the Vision/Scarlet Witch Romance?
After 13 Years, It’s Time for Marvel’s Best Couple to Get Back Together
Scarlet Witch and Vision are one of theAvengersfranchise’s most iconic couples, but the pair broke up in 2012, following the events ofAvengers Disassemble. In that story, Scarlet Witch’s breakdown caused a devastating attack on the Avengers, with She-Hulk tearing Vision to pieces. Tony Stark slowly rebuilt the synthezoid, but when Vision was himself again, his rage at Wanda caused a bitter break-up.
In the time since, their relationship has thawed, butfans have been frustrated that the two haven’t fully reunited. Now, the light of their past relationship is beginning to shine through again, especially as Vision manifests an entire new power to save Wanda’s life. Graverealm also gives the pair an entire day enjoying the childhood of their children Tommy and Billy, as well asVision’s deceased son Vin.

LongtimeAvengersfans will have their fingers crossed that Vision and the Scarlet Witch are getting back together. At the same time, the introduction of a new power prior to Vision’s MCU series predicts a similar upgrade in the movies, where the ‘new’ Vision will need ways to set himself apart from his prior self. Whatever happens in the movies, theVisionjust debuted a major new comic power that makes him an even more versatile hero, with signs that his romance withScarlet Witchmay finally be back on the cards.
