Marvel first revealed Predator X in the monthly solicitations forPredator Kills the Marvel Universe#3, with Leinil Francis Yu’s cover for the issue featuring a Yautja in an homage to Wolverine’s Weapon X look. The first issue of the miniseries will formally debut the character, following up on a plot thread fromthePredator vs. Spider-Manseries.
Wolverine’s famousWeapon Xstory and costumewere a major part of writer Benjamin Percy’s firstPredatorand Marvel crossover withPredator vs. Wolverine, and the series' dangling threads are making a huge comeback in the universe’s grand culmination. That series has already revealed that the Yautja helmet inspired Barry Windsor-Smith’s classic Weapon X look, and now it’s officially coming full circle.

With Weapon X giving Wolverine his iconic and near-indestructible adamantium skeleton, this enhanced Predator could be the franchise’s scariest and most powerful yet. Whether the new Predator X also gets an adamantium upgrade, or possibly even more intimidating power-ups,the newPredator Kills the Marvel Universeseriescould create a super-powered monster worthy of their own comic or movie spin-off.
