Warning: SPOILERS for Wednesday season 2 part 1 are ahead!
Wednesdayseason 2 comes with a lot of exciting changes, but it repeats a season 1 complaint, with one key change. After two years, fans of Netflix’sWednesdayfinally get the next installment of the hit show. On August 6, part 1 of season 2 dropped on the streaming site withWednesdayseason 2 part 2slated for September 3.
The second season focuses primarily on the mysterious Avian who Wednesday thinks could be the cause of Enid’s death, based on a premonition. Wednesday puts all her focus on preventing her best friend’s death with the help of Agnes. She keeps Enid at a distance, seemingly in an attempt to prevent her from getting into a dangerous situation.

However,Wednesdayseason 2 includes subplots that don’t involve the Avian, such as theidentity of Wednesday’s stalkerand Pugsley’s zombie. Additionally, Enid’s subplot repeats a complaint aboutWednesdayseason 1, just shifting which characters are involved in it.
Wednesday Season 2 Replaces Wednesday’s Love Triangle With Enid’s
Enid, Ajax, & Bruno Are A Love Triangle In Wednesday Season 2 Part 1
While fans lovedWednesdayseason 1, they did have some complaints. The most prevalent one was the attention put towardsWednesday’s love triangle with Tyler and Xavier. Some people thought it distracted from the central mystery of the show. Even Jenna Ortega didn’t like the love triangle (viaBusiness Insider).
Luckily, theending ofWednesdayseason 1made it clear that the love triangle wouldn’t continue into season 2. However, days before its release, thecreators of Wednesday revealed that romance would continueto happen in season 2. They said that romance is usually part of the teenage experience, and explained that “other kids are also exploring that avenue.”

Now thatWednesdayseason 2 is out, we know what that looks like. Wednesday Addams, at least for now, doesn’t dive into a new relationship.Rather than a Wednesday, Tyler, and Xavier love triangle, we have a love triangle between Enid, Ajax, and Bruno. This takes up a decent amount of time in the first half of the season.
Enid’s Love Triangle Is Even More Frustrating Than Wednesday’s
Ajax Didn’t Deserve To Be Treated So Poorly
Unfortunately,Wednesdayseason 2’s love triangle is more frustrating than the first season’s triangle. Rather than being straightforward about keeping her options open, Enid strings Ajax along after having ghosted him. She had a relatively minor reason to break up with him, which would have been fine if she had actually broken up with him after her feelings changed.
On top of that, she started flirting with Bruno and hanging out with him before breaking things off with Ajax, which was hard to watch. I love Enid, and I don’t like Ajax. However, I even wanted to shake her and ask, “What are you doing?” At least Wednesday wasn’t in the wrong in her love triangle.

I’m going to give Enid a little grace in this article because she is an emotionally immature teenager who makes foolish choices. However, I would rather they not continue the triangle inWednesdayseason 2 part 2. They can have romance without Enid stringing people along.
