The trailer reveals that Wednesday has a vision about being responsible for Enid’s impending death. Enid became one of the breakout characters of season 1, determined to become Wednesday’s friend and fully turn into a werewolf. Wednesday’s visions will result in her attempting to prevent the deadly outcome.
In the trailer, Wednesday is shown crying black tears regarding her foresight. Morticia holds a notebook with a woman drawn screaming, possibly Enid, with the words “Black Tears” written countless times. Morticia can be heard saying, “I will not let history repeat itself.”
It was shown in season 1 thatMorticia killed a student, Garrett Gates, after he attacked Gomez Addams with a sword. It is unclear if Morticia may have played a part in another death.

If Morticia could have prevented another death, possibly one of her friends, it makes sense why she would want to return to Nevermore Academy. The trailer also reveals that Wednesday has an elevated status after theending ofWednesdayseason 1, which may put even more of a target on her back.
Given Wednesday’s headstrong nature, she may push back against her mother trying to help her and drive her further down the path towards Enid’s demise. As there is a shared history with the Addams and Gates family, including Goody Addams killing their ancestor, Joseph Crackstone, they may be entering a new conflict.
With Wednesday possibly repeating the mistakes of her mother, the upcoming season is upping the stakes. As Morticia will be playing a more active role inWednesdayseason 2, more of the Addams Family history will be revealed.
