It’s sometimes hard to be a fan during the offseason, butChicago Medenthusiasts can at least watch two of the series' stars in an award-winning FX TV show. Most of theChicago Medcastfinished the season 10 finale in the middle of major storylines, but theChicago Medseason 10 finaleisn’t the most recent place to see them.

Although it will still be a while beforeChicago Medseason 11premieres,those who enjoy the actors themselves can and should watch two of them right now in FX’sThe Bear. While their characters differ substantially between series, viewing these stars' other work will be highly rewarding, in this particular case.

Jeremy Allen White as Carmy Berzatto and Oliver Platt as Uncle Cicero in The Bear

Chicago Med’s Oliver Platt & Sarah Ramos Both Appear In FX’s The Bear

It Helps That Both Series Are Filmed At The Same Studio

Even before joining theChicago Medcast, Sarah Ramos was already part ofThe Bear’s castas Jessica, master of the house at Richie’s former workplace, Ever.Chef Jessica and Caitin Lenox are similar in that they both exhibit a need to be in control, which should feel familiar to anyone who comes toThe Bearfrom Ramos' medical drama.

And she’s not alone —Chicago Med’s Oliver Platt has also long been part ofThe Bearas Uncle Cicero, a character more directly associated with the protagonist. Ramos and Platt can easily appear on both shows due to the series sharing a Chicago film studio, but convenience isn’t the only reason to check out their roles duringChicago Med’s hiatus.

The Bear Gives Its Chicago Med Actors A Chance To Show Off Their Range

Oliver Platt Is Borderline Unrecognizable Between Shows

ConsideringCaitlin Lenox’s possible departure fromChicago Med(depending on how her storyline plays out), it feels more significant than ever to be watching as much of the actress' work as possible.Ramos playsThe Bear’s Jessica with a lot more compassion than she plays Lenox, but it’s mostly a nice way of juxtaposing two characters who appreciate order.

Meanwhile,Platt’s character inThe Bearis a complete 180 fromChicago Med’s soft-spoken Daniel Charles. Uncle Cicero is loud, outspoken, and very judgmental of Carmy’s disregard for his pocketbook. He also has a bit of a trucker mouth, which is entertaining to watch for those only familiar with Dr. Charles' “Bob Newhart” manner of polite stuttering.

Aside from casting,Chicago Medfans might find several things to love aboutThe Bear’s general tone. While FX’s hit show features some storylines reminiscent ofChicago Med’s romance issues, the story plays more heavily into its drama than its comedy when addressing the challenges of running a restaurant. This should appeal to anyone watchingMedfor the interpersonal drama.

In truth,The Beardoesn’t veer into comedy often. Then again, neither doesChicago Med. Both are shows that feature incredibly dramatic peeks into uncommon job industries, and both do so eloquently with amazingly cast characters. Anyone waiting for Lenox and Charles to return would be remiss not to giveThe Beara quick once-over.
