Despite the success of the event, shifts in editorial policies and staff a few years later derailed any future crossovers. The two rivals traded barbs throughout the 2000s instead of ideas, leading to another “Cold War” between them.

Now, with the comic book industry once again in upheaval, Marvel and DC are putting aside their differences and releasing two one-shots,Batman/DeadpoolandDeadpool/Batman. The books will also feature back-up stories bringing together other Marvel and DC characters, such asthe Hulk and Harley Quinn. These stories will also pair characters up with top-flight creators.
