Wonder Woman 3was one of the many projects canceled after James Gunn was appointed to reboot the DC movie and TV franchise. Had that movie not been scrapped, Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot’s third Wonder Woman collaboration would have allegedly featured Ben Affleck’s Batman.
An online rumor revealed that hadWonder Woman3still been a-go, it would have taken place in modern days, but it also would have featured Ben Affleck’s Batman. It’s not clear if he would have had a significant role or if he would have had a cameo. This rumor was followed by another claiming Affleck was all aboard playing Batman again.

“CanWeGetSomeToast” reported the details ofthe canceledWonder Woman 3. “Patty Jenkin’s take for her canceled #WonderWoman3 with Gal Gadot was set in the present day of the DCEU, after Justice League and her cameo in #TheFlash,” they said. “It would have featured other DC characters, one of them being Ben Affleck’s Batman.” “MyTimeToShineHello” added, “Ben Affleck was fully invested as Batman again.”
Affleck had a tumultuous exit from the DCEU after playing The Caped Crusader inBatman v. Superman: The Dawn of JusticeandJustice League, but he signed on to play the Dark Knight in subsequent projects. Since his return, he has played his version of Batman inThe Flashand was slated to appear inAquaman and the Lost Kingdom, though his role was reportedly cut. With Gunn now calling the shots, it is unclear how much of a role Affleck will play in the DCEU’s future, if any, especially since the franchise has Robert Pattinson to play the younger version of Batman and they brought in Michael Keaton to reprise his role as the old School Batman.
It would have been interesting to see how aWonder Woman 3movie worked with Affleck in the picture. Batman and Wonder Woman have romantic tension in the comics and TV shows.Given Batman’s propensity to distrust people, pairing him and Wonder Woman together could have made for an interesting dynamic, knowing Wonder Woman’s romantic history. But that’s all hypothetical. Perhaps DC doesn’t want to do all these crossovers in their movies.
Then again, there are many unknown details about what’s ahead in the DC universe. At first, many thought the whole gang was returning with Gadot, Affleck, andHenry Cavill as Superman, but that may not be accurate. Now, there’s so much uncertainty regarding where DC goes from here. They are making cuts left and right. They trust that Gunn knows what he’s doing. Even though Gunn has an accomplished resume, his role was increased tenfold. He’ll have to prove he can run the pizzeria instead of being one of its most exemplary employees.
