In a staggering transformation, an iconicX-Menhero just achieved their ultimate form, becoming a literal Marvel god. Fans could have been forgiven for thinking this mutant hero couldn’t get any more powerful, but it turns out there was one final step left in their ascendance from mutant hero to wrathful deity.
In today’sStorm #11, Storm faces off against Infinity - the embodiment of Marvel’s reality. Recently, Storm has been channelingthe power of Infinity’s brother/other self Eternity, who has since fled reality. Now, up against a being of near-infinite power,Storm lets go of all the self-control and protections she’s built up over the years, tapping into her full magical and mutant power.
Storm’s hair transforms into celestial fire and a godly costume manifests around her, as she calls down blazing lightning on Infinity.Recently, Storm has been exploring her lineage, which goes back to the first Sorcerer Supreme, Agamotto.The combination of her Omega mutant powers, mystical potential and Eternity’s patronage have elevated Storm beyond all limits, and as she finally stops holding back,“the floodgates of self-control have been demolished, and fury crashes out.”
Storm Achieves Godhood, As She Taps into Her Full Powers

For months, Storm has essentially been Eternity’s puppet as thegods desperately attempt to fight off Hadad, the first ever storm god. Now, Storm is finally free, and with that freedom she also stops holdingherselfback. Since she was a teenager, Storm has been able to change the weather, with even her mood subconsciously changing the entire planet’s weather patterns. As a result,Storm has learned to hold back, bottling up her emotionsand maintaining constant control of her abilities.
By letting go of that control,Storm rises to the level of the Cosmic Abstracts, capable of slaying Infinity itself. Thankfully, Galactus and Storm’s allies manage to talk her down, creating a final alliance to fight off Hadad and save Earth-616, which the villain intends to completely destroy. As the Phoenix, the Scarlet Witch and Galactus hold off Hadad’s forces, Storm is going in alone to defeat the evil god.
The next issue will conclude the ‘Thunder War’ arc, and see Storm take ona god so powerful, he took down the Phoenix Force and Death itselfthe last time he stood against the universe. Thankfully, Storm’s ability to unlock her final form means the belovedX-Menhero is capable of equaling this unfathomable threat, but can even she walk away from a conflict which will shake the universe itself?
