It’s fascinating to watch their toxic ways get worse and worse asWeCrashedjumps back and forth in time, following WeWork’s progress from a startup to a $47 billion company in under a decade.
WeCrashed Is Unlike Anything Anne Hathaway Has Done Before - & That’s A Good Thing
Those who follow Anne Hathaway’s career will know thatWeCrashedis like nothing else in her filmography. In her earlier years, Hathaway typically starred in a lot of teen movies, likeThe Princess DiariesfilmsandElla Enchanted. While Hathaway’s later work is generally more serious, most of her projects have somewhat of a hopeful undertone.
However, the most notable thing about Hathaway’s performance isWeCrashed’s Rebekah Neumannas a character overall. A majority of Hathaway’s characters are heroic figures whose minimal flaws work in their favor, but Rebekah is very different. It’s not often that Hathaway portrays a character who is unlikable, but one of her biggest talents as a performer is being able to let go when needed.
Rebekah is a new personality for Hathaway, but she nails it perfectly, and it’s a good thing that she diversifies the types of characters she plays. Not only does she add her own quirks to the role, but Hathaway also has the added pressure of portraying a real person, too. There are some elements of the miniseries that could be better at times, which explains the difference in opinion. For example, the pacing of the story is a little off at times, and many consider certain scenes that focus on WeWork’s business structure as boring or slow.
